It is the holiday season once again!
Good will, good cheer, gratitude abounds – in some places.
And in some places there is deep sadness and heartache. Friends and family separated by distance, physical or emotional, dear ones feeling alone and forgotten. It can truly be a tough time for so many people and my heart goes out to those who feel sadness during this season.
Over the past week, I have talked with a few close friends who are feeling this way. Sad. Melancholy. Alone. And, all I could think of to share that is positive is “turn your pain and courage into a gift for others.”
We all feel pain and loss, sometimes more than other times. And, when we share how we walk through it, it can be an enormous gift to those who might be now or will in the future go through something similar.
Do you share how you walk through challenges, sad times, loss?
There’s really no way out of hard times but through them – at least from what I’ve experienced so far. So, I asked one of my friends who is a wonderful writer and communicator to turn his sorrow into a work of literature for us. Wouldn’t that be great?
Instead of giving up and abandoning all hope, to turn his challenge, lesson, pain into a work of art (because that is his gift) and share it with us? I would just love that. And I expect it would be healing for him and helpful to others.
Like this blog is for me this week. It’s been a bit sad with so many close friends “down in the dumps”. So, I’m sharing my solution with you. What do I do when things get a little rough? I write about it, share about it, and hope it reaches someone who needs it at just the right time because that feels good!
